Meals are available for all children
Each year, Salem-Keizer Public Schools participates in the Summer Meals Program, which provides free meals to all children ages 1-18, regardless of family income. Free summer meals will be available from June 18 through August 30, though all locations will be closed on July 4.
Children are welcome to receive a free meal at any of the listed school sites around the district, as well as at the KROC Center and FACES Family Daycare Literacy & Resource Center. All meals will be prepared without tap water, so the water advisory status does not affect food safety. Both breakfast and lunch will be available at each of the schools.
“The Summer Meals Program is a great opportunity for Salem-Keizer Public Schools to connect with students over the summer and serve as a resource to our community,” said Superintendent Christy Perry.
Libraries will be open at certain elementary schools on Wednesdays and Thursdays to encourage students to continue learning through the summer.
Summer meals will be available at the following locations:
- Auburn Elementary
- Chávez Elementary
- Eyre Elementary
- FACES Family Daycare Literacy & Resource Center
- Hallman Elementary
- Highland Elementary
- Houck Middle
- Kennedy Elementary
- KROC Center
- Leslie Middle
